A daily ritual honoring the military is the firing of a canon on the grounds of the Marriott Grand Hotel in Point Clear, Alabama. Every day at 4:00pm a military procession around the grounds of the hotel ends behind the lobby building where a canon is fired. The event is followed by tea and cookies in the hotel lobby.
