Four people died in Bledsoe County, Tenn., but a family survived being tossed across a road in their modular home, which was destroyed, Mayor Bobby Collier said. having seen the damage of a tornado first hand, I get a bi squirrely when the thunder storms start building in the afternoon. Then we are travelling in Birmingham as the storm builds and we see signs of another killer tornado, this one in April. 'A Bomb Has Been Dropped' On Birmingham, Mayor Says After Storm - Apr 28, 2011 -- "You're talking about whole neighborhoods of housing just completely gone. Churches, gone. Businesses, gone.

Demopolis, Alabama - Riverside Cemetery The Riverside Cemetery, in Demopolis, Alabama is located on a chalk cliff overlooking the beautiful Tombigbee River. The bodies of Allen Glover, his first wife, and a daughter were moved to the Glover mausoleum after it was completed in 1845. A Gothic Revival cast iron fence was later added around the vault in 1858. Ann Glover allowed other family members to be buried around the mausoleum in later years, and in 1882 she began to sell lots to the public. This led to the establishment of the site as Riverside Cemetery. The cemetery also contains family plots for other earlier Demopolis familes such as the Whitfields and Lyon. A Rainy Day in Sylacauga, Alabama. The city was first incorporated as Syllacoga in 1838 and again in 1887 as Sylacauga. Sylacauga, "The Marble City", is constructed on a solid deposit of the hardest, whitest marble in the world. The bed is approximately 32 miles long by one and one half miles wide and 400 feet deep. Sylacauga is the site of the first documented case of an object from outer space hitting a person. On November 30, 1954, an 8.5 pound meteorite crashed through the roof of an Oak Grove house, bounced off a radio, and striking the resident. You could travel many miles and not meet a character quite like Papa Roy. A shrimper for pleasure, not for profit, he washes his cares away each day in the beauty of his surroundings. His home, the P&C Lodge, in the Gulf Coast town of Josephine, Alabama , is a place where peace and contentment prevail. He spends his retirement enjoying life and savoring every bite. His mantra: "Do nothing, and rest afterward." This is Papa Roy's Gulf. Head south for a visit and discover yours.

Daphne Alabama - Gator Alley Daphne is a city in Baldwin County, Alabama, on the eastern shoreline of Mobile Bay. The city is located just off I-10, 11 miles east of Mobile and 150 miles southwest of the state capital of Montgomery. The 2000 census lists the population of the city as 16581 making Daphne the most populous city in Baldwin County. The city estimates its present population at approximately 18000 in 2008. The history of Daphne predates recorded history and shares much in common with other southeastern towns and cities. From Native American, to the Spanish, French and British, the city has seen a lengthy parade of historic influences which gives Daphne its present character. Daphne is also known as the "Jubilee City." A Jubilee in Mobile Bay occurs when crab, shrimp, and other sea life from the waters of Mobile Bay are suddenly found washed ashore along the coastline. Biologists believe the phenomenon is due to a possible decrease in water oxygen levels which force the fish to the surface. We will have more videos on Daphne here and on our website in the next few months.
